Healthcare is at the heart of every nation's well-being and Canada was no exception. The shortage of nurses had become a critical concern, causing a strain on healthcare systems across the country. Conventional recruitment methods proved time-consuming and often fell short of hiring suitable talent. The need for a streamlined and engaging hiring process became an urgent necessity to address the healthcare staffing crisis.
Healthcare workers were also facing challenges in finding suitable employment opportunities. Despite their qualifications and expertise, many were struggling to secure positions due to the competitive nature of the job market. Additionally, the traditional hiring process often lacked transparency, making it difficult for healthcare workers to navigate and understand their prospects.
With ER, the assignment was to design a game changer for recruiters and applicants in the healthcare industry. I took charge as the UI/UX Designer, guiding the entire design journey from conception to execution. ER has been adapted across countries by healthcare recruiters and applicants. Applicants have described the onboarding process as inviting and friendly, with similar positive feedback extending to the user-friendly nature of the dashboard. I designed a Schedule Meeting system in response to feedback indicating that recruiters were encountering challenges navigating a specific product designed for that purpose. Our solution was warmly embraced and well-received.
My involvement encompassed comprehensive research, aligning closely with a Product Requirement Document. I ideated various versions, tailoring designs to resonate with the company's established tone while remaining user-friendly. From colour palettes to typography, every detail was carefully considered. Beyond the aesthetics, ER provided a solution. From user-testing sessions with potential users and stakeholders, I took note of pain points and feedback and used them to refine and optimise the process to actionable insights.
Ultimately, I found satisfaction in the creative process, seeing ideas evolve and align with the company's ethos.
